So i have a ring doorbell 2 that has worked great for last 10 months or so.
Ring doorbell live view activating device.
There does not appear to be anyway to force the samsung phones to switch to the 2 4 ghz band when trying to activate live view.
I have multiple ring products and this one i have to say is useless.
Just purchased the ring doorbell 2 on the firt day of issue and aside from 1 2 days of it working it continually fails to activate on live view.
Very disappointed in this product.
But as others have mentioned i would prefer live view worked so i can see in real time.
This happens on my laptop app as well as my phone.
As a result your ring app is unable to show you a live view or display a video recording from your ring camera s.
There are several ways to access live view.
When i go back to history all attempts to activate live view have been recorded.
I ve tried resetting it multiple times to no avail.
I m able to view the video a couple of minutes later but not live when the person might still be there.
Rsi is fine and has good connection with the device however every time i try live view a black screen with activating device comes up and nothing will happen.
Well it works like a charm and should be used in conjunction with the ring app for other regular functionality.
On your dashboard screen tap on an image from your doorbell or camera.
When i ring or motion is detected a message appears on my phone.
Live view for any ring device lets you access a live video feed from your camera at any time.
Otherwise the device appears to be connected normally.
You will be automatically brought to live view.
No live view and stuck on activating device it s been months since the live view worked on my ring doorbell.
I decided to call ring support and try to get to a level 2 person but i spoke with a gentleman who told me that a new app has been released rapid ring app that is a slimmed down version of the ring app that only does a live view.
I have no issues with the connection since rssi is 45.
In the ring app device status settings i also see the battery status and the wlan signal strength rssi 52.
Because of this the phones are connected at 5 ghz but the ring doorbell 2 is using 2 4 ghz.
Doesn t matter if i m home on same wifi or remote.
Same issue for me.
If you re having trouble seeing a live view or a recorded video that means there s a problem in the data transfer between your ring device and the ring app.
This is obvious causing a mismatch with wifi connectivity between the ring app running of the phones and the doorbell itself.
Whenever i get a ring alert on my phone if i try to connect immediately it stays on activating device until it ultimately fails.
Device health shows signal strenght as rssi 57.
Funny that although activating device pops up and the blue ring spins it is recording.
Accessing live view from your dashboard.
Rssi is 46 and it is literally situated less than 20 feet from my wifi router.
