Hello i am trying to set up my ring doorbell 2 and when i press the setup button i get nothing but a solid white light. The device has both ac power and a fully charged battery. Ring doorbell fails on wifi connect spinning light hi all i m trying to set up an old ring doorbell. How do i know that my ring video doorbell 1st generation is in setup mode.

You ll know your ring video doorbell is in setup mode when the light on the front of the video doorbell is spinning. My doorbell is fully charged however when i press the orange light it does not spin. I think it must have been sitting in a box not set up for five years. No alerts no video from doorbell.

It appears to be the original ring doorbell. If i push the main button on the doorbell only the doorbell itself rings as does the mechanical doorbel. We did all the things which mostly consisted of me taking pictures of my doorbell and chime transformer wiring setup testing normal doorbell functionality. Once you connect successfully to your home wifi the video doorbell pro will automatically update if necessary.

New installation followed all of the directions got to the point where it asks if the light ring is spinning but it doesn t happen. When any ring product is in setup mode it broadcasts a temporary ring wifi network. In fact the ring is half lit and then the final 3 4 of the ring just feebly blinks on and off.
