If the wood there is not sound then you are likely looking forward to some more serious repair such as replacement of the jamb side board or the whole jamb.
Repairing split door frame hinge.
Take a plain piece of wood the width of your door and cut it down until it fits into the shape left by your former door hinge.
Once the wood is the right size glue the inward facing side and then press it into place.
Using your 3 8 drill bit drill out the old screw holes.
This may include covering over any wood stains left by the hinge.
