My 2011 toyota highlander s 3 doors will not unlock the passenger and two rear doors.
Removing toyota highlander door panel.
Not even the power button on the door panel will unlock the passenger doors.
Remove the phillips screw located underneath.
Remove the one front door trim panel capped screws from the door pull handle.
Firmly pry out the bottom edge of the door panel to disengage the pop rivet friction fasteners.
Pry around the edge of the trim surrounding the door release with a panel tool to loosen and remove the trim ring.
Step 2 pry open a screw cover in the bottom of the door pull up on the armrest.
I removed mine to replace the door lock actuator but you may also need to work on.
Remove the main body electronic control unit ecu and locate terminals 1 and 3 on the fuse box itself.
Continue pulling out the pop rivets at the bottom and both sides of the door panel.
Slide a flat bladed tool behind each of the retainers and twist the tool to disengage the front door trim panel from the front door 20124.
There are many reasons a vehicle owner may want to remove their door panel.
Lift door panel off frame.
Tilt away top edge.
Firmly pull out the bottom edge of the door panel to release the pop rivet friction fasteners.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
If equipped with power windows remove the door pull handle.
Door lock handle cables.
Remove the front door trim panel.
You must remove door panel roll window up and remove rear window channel by door latch remove three screws that hold latch assembly pull it to center off door and remove connector get latch and lock assembly out remove cover two small screws to access screw that hold lock actuator memorize position off lever remove and replace it is quite a tedious job and tricky good luck.
Carefully lift the plastic door panel up and off the upper lip at the top of the metal door frame.
